Acupuncture consists mostly of inserting fine needles into the body
at specific points shown to be effective in the treatment of specific
health problems. The acupuncture points have been mapped by the Chinese
for over a period of two thousand years and there are more than a thousand
known points.
Michael Patty uses traditional Chinese methods of needle insertion for
trauma related pain, but prefers the use of gentle Japanese style for
treating internal and emotional problems.
